Ever wondered what it might be like to take performance-enhancing drugs? Andrew Tilin did. Knowing that many riders in the Northern California Masters racing scene were taking anything from EPO through HGH to synthetic testosterone but unable to get anyone to go on record about the effects (and side effects), he decided to find out for himself and document the result.
Andrew will be reading from his book and hosting a Q&A session at MontanoVelo. Entrance is free.

contributeLast weekend Cyclezine’s grandfather, Bernard, checked in at The Shutters on Santa Monica. Bernard rented a beach cruiser intended to checkout some hotties on the beach, but later he ran into Kyle Tracko and Prolly at Summer Fixed event by the beach. I got one picture from Bernard’s Flickr set here to show WOW..Look, those wheel and air just got bigger and bigger…. you can read and see more of the scene at Tracko and Prolly

Ernest Csuka, of Alex Singer Cycles passed away over the holidays. Monsieur Csuka was one of the last great Constructeurs to build in the old style. Csuka, Singer’s great nephew, stared at Alex Singer Cycles in the 40′s and eventually took over the shop in 1964. He recently handed the shop over to his son Oliver who, we assume, will continue to run the family business. The cycling world has lost a innovative figure and he will be missed.

one commentBetter late than never, right?
I apologize for taking an extra 2 weeks to post the results from the SMSW4 race, back in early December. The holiday noose started to tighten much earlier than usual, and before I knew it I was procrastinating left and right.
