Christina Peck Wins NACCC 2009 Boston

Peck1

Dear Christina,

We would just like to send out a big fat congratulations from all of us here at CycleZine. Yet again, you had proven to be the best.

Love,

-CZ.

Yep, Christinaaa took home the cash at this years NACCC in Boston, but SF was not to be outdone as our very own local boy Chas, placed third. If you see him around downtown, slap him a quick 5 (after he runs you down). If you are interested, check the full results here.

More info, news and pictures can also be found at the NACCC site.

And race Sponsors!!! Yes you!!! Get this girl a shiny new bike and put her on a plane to Tokyo so she compete in CMWC this September!

Thanks to Dirty Dave who sent in the following race report:

…..Chicago and SF held it down big time. Super cool kids from the windy city. One of whom grew up in Boston, took us on a boat ride around the harbor, and pre-rode all the checkpoints with us. Boston is laid out in a completely organic fashion. Nothing makes sense, no grid, addresses have no relation to each other, streets intersect themselves and drivers are real assholes, the level of bike hate on the streets is unreal. Even Boston natives only seem to know their way around by landmarks and referential directions. Christina got her bearings really quick, the girl is a natural. The race book was real solid but we made up custom maps the night before the race. We both ended up putting the maps away about half way through the race and dropped 23 packages each before the cutoff time. Jacobs won’t tell me how much ‘money’ I earned but he swears it wasn’t more than her. This being NACCC my results are of no importance but the race was super rad and I’m very appreciative that I was allowed to participate.

The R1 ride was super rad as well. 240 miles in three days on the old Boston Road through Hartford and Providence. 112 miles the first day, 74 miles of rollers the second, and a torrential downpour to start the third. Some people do the strangest things for fun. Big Ups to the Squid for organizing and to the Hartford and Providence crews for all the support.

Thanks Dave!!
